Bekaert attaches great importance to sustainability. The group was already well on its way to making the entire supply chain more sustainable, but still lacked a comprehensive overview of its whole supplier base. To get a clear picture of the risk ranking in which Bekaert's suppliers fall, the technology leader now uses the ESG solution from Altares Dun & Bradstreet.
“To meet ever-changing regulations, our customers' expectations and our own ESG goals, we at Bekaert felt the need to not only improve the performance of our suppliers, but also gain critical insight into our broader supply chain,” explains Matthew Spencer.
“While our suppliers already sign our Code of Conduct and we screen them intensively to identify any sanctions, bribery and corruption measures against them, there was still one crucial question: how can we know with certainty that they are delivering on their promises across the full scope of ESG factors?”
“We were looking for a solution that would allow us to move from data on several hundred suppliers, to visibility across 15,000 suppliers and ultimately across the entire supply chain of tens of thousands of companies.
In addition, we wanted to cover a broad spectrum of ESG topics. The methodology used to select these topics was essential. We were also looking for a flexible platform that we could easily integrate into our current systems.
Finally, it was important for us to partner with a world-leading company with the potential to keep growing. We eventually ended up selecting the ESG solution from Altares Dun & Bradstreet.”

Altares Dun & Bradstreet’s ESG Ranking Analysis provides a complete at-a-glance overview of third-party ESG risks, such as suppliers, customers or partners, broken down by theme and compared to industry averages. This solution ensures that, as a company, you are doing business with organisations which have good environmental, social and governance scores, helping you avoid costly risks and increase profits. Bekaert is the first European customer for Altares Dun & Bradstreet to work with the ESG solution.
